Visitor Visa

Visitor Visa is also referred to as Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or Canadian Tourist Visa. Getting a visa makes you eligible for admission to the country as a temporary resident. Basic requirements for Visitor Visa include having a valid travel document, good health condition, and proof that you will leave the country before the visa expires.

There are single-entry visas and multiple entry visas. Often applicants are considered for multiple entry visas as a single-entry visa is issued under unique circumstances.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is required if you are traveling from a visa-exempt country by air. This was introduced in 2015 making it simple for eligible Foreign Nationals to visit Canada by successfully filling a simple online form.

Upon approval, the eTA is linked to the visitor’s passport. It is valid for five years until the passport expires and allows you for multiple entries for a maximum stay of six months each time.

Temporary Resident Permit

A Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) is not a Temporary Resident Visa. TRP is a travel document meant for inadmissible individuals due to medical or criminal reasons to enter or remain in the country.

TRP is given only f the person’s need to travel to Canada overweighs the risk of his being in the country. In other words, his presence in the country must not risk its citizens. The duration of the stay under TRP will depend on the reason for the travel and the discretion of the concerned authorities making a decision on your application. It may be granted for just the day or for 3 years.
